Abcya Money Bingo Game
The object of Counting Money is to learn US currency and to count, add and subtract with it.
Counting Money utilizes US currency as virtual manipulatives to introduce money and apply it to mathematics. Three dynamic practice modes, fun BINGO games, and a customizable fish tank encourage children to add and subtract money in a variety of ways including word problems. Counting money has never been this fun and educational!

How to play
Counting Money has 3 main components:
1. Practice
2. Fish Tank
3. BINGO
1. Practice
Practice presents different amounts of money which players must represent by adding and subtracting money or by entering digits. Difficulty can be easily adjusted by toggling the buttons at the top left of the practice screen. Practice modes and advanced settings can be accessed by tapping the menu button at the bottom of the practice screen. When 10 questions in practice mode have been answered correctly there is a bonus opportunity. Please see “2. Fish Tank” below.
There are 3 different practice modes:
Look and Make: Amounts are presented visually as digits and must represented by adding and subtracting money.
Listen and Make: Amounts are presented auditorily by voice and must represented by adding and subtracting money.
Count and Write: Amounts are presented with money and must be represented by entering digits.
2. Fish Tank
When 10 questions in practice mode have been answered correctly the total money counted can be used to purchase an item for the fish tank! Fun items can be purchased for the tank only by solving a word problem. If the word problem is answered correctly the item is placed in the fish tank. If the word problem is answered incorrectly the item is not purchased and all money is lost!
The fish tank is interactive!
-Tap and drag the water to scroll around the tank.
-Tap and drag purchased items to move them around the tank.
-Double tap purchased items to remove them from the tank.
-Tap fish to watch them move quickly.
-Double tap the water to feed the fish.
3. BINGO
The object of BINGO is to get a pattern of 3, 4, or 5 fish in a row by correctly counting money.
BINGO Features
-Highly customizable to meet the needs of a variety of learners
-Select between 3 different grid sizes: 3x3, 4x4, or 5x5
-Adjust difficulty by choosing which coins and/or bills to count.
-Earn fish each time a high score is achieved
The score in BINGO is determined by the time to complete a game plus a two second penalty for each problem answered incorrectly.

-Toggle the sounds on or off
-Toggle the BINGO timer on or off
-Choose how money should be counted: use any number of coins or use fewest coins possible.

Common Core connection
Counting money utilizes a dynamic number line which shows the relationship between numbers, addition and subtraction to length. Whole number relationships and place value is also reinforced through grouping by ones, tens, hundreds and thousands.
